Charles Feggans grew up in a semipoor family with five brothers and three sisters. Having no insight on his future, two weeks after graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. hoping to break poverty’s cycle and it worked. After six years of on and off floating around on several different types of Naval Ships, Charles ended up in Vietnam in a camp for 12 Months and 13 days helping to supply combat troops.
Soon after leaving the corp, he enrolled in college where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. Today, he is leading a life in New Jersey.

Jack Wilson was an exceptional type of guy you would meet on the street. Always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. And carried a pleasant smile. One day he found himself without a job due to a previous layoff in a factory that went out of business. Needing work to help support a family, he took a job working inside a prison where he made daily direct contact with inmates. Being the type of person he was, it was not long before he started answering their small request for outside items. Jack didn’t think what he was doing was a crime. After all, it became another way to earn money to supplement his pay. More and more inmates started making requests from him until thing got out of control. Jack would soon have to answer up to all his dealings with the law and inmates.

And then there's Flash, an outspoken gang leader who has no fear of anyone and is used to getting his way. Fate sets the three of them on a collision course as they face the trials and realities of living in the projects. This novel is typical of some project communities in today's societies where people living in dangerous housing developments do what they must to survive.
